On Monday, January 16, 2012, Tyler and I went to Brazos Bend State Park and rode bikes. This has always been one of our family's favorite places. It is about 35 miles from our house and the temperature was near 80. With 5 or more inches of rain a week ago, near freezing temperatures a few days ago and the warmth, it turned out to be the perfect day for viewing alligators. They were everywhere. In total we saw 179 alligators and countless turtles and birds. Here are a few pictures to give you a bit of an idea.

Tyler and I spent the week before Christmas in Orlando and the Magic Kingdom. We were there from Friday, the 16th through Friday the 23rd. Shad couldn't stand being away and suprised us by coming in late Sunday night (or should I say early Monday morning) and spent two days with us. We had a great time. We even had our pictures taken with the princesses (more than once). Here they are. You can decide which set of princesses was the best in Tyler's pictures. Enjoy!!

Grandfather Bingham's 90th Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Dad's 90th birthday on April 23, 2011. We first had a family gathering from 11-1 pm and had lots of good food and time to play ping pong and talk. Tyler was glad to get to know his cousins again. Then the kids and some adults went to the recreation place for swimming, wallyball and basketball. From 3 pm - 5 pm it was a Bingham's cousins party. Two of Dad's sisters were able to attend. I loved seeing cousins I probably hadn't seen since we were teenagers.

Tulip Festival Utah April 2011

On Friday before my Dad's 90th Celebration we went to the Tulip Festival for an outing. It was fun just to be together and enjoy the beautiful flowers.

Spring Snow Skiing at Alta

We flew to Utah to be with my Dad for his 90th Birthday. The weather was perfect for snow skiing, new snow and the sun shining. Shad and Tyler went skiing. Tyler took a lesson in the morning and then joined Shad for afternoon skiing.

Mike and Peggy's Visit

The first week of April, Mike and Peggy came for a visit.
They also got to be here for Molly Jane's Blessing and Craig's birthday.
We had such a nice time with them. Craig, Mike, Shad and Tyler went to Brazos Bend to see the alligators, this time they took bikes to ride.
Peggy and I stayed behind and went to lunch instead.

Kevin and Kelli come for a visit

At the end of March Kevin, Kelli, Bridger and Kimber came for a visit.
We went to Brazos Bend with them and walked around the lake. There were so many alligators it was a little scary. It was a beautiful day.
Later that week, they also went to the zoo and to Galveston. We spent some time swimming in the pool. We had so much fun having visitors.

Craig's Knee Surgery

Craig had surgery on his knee Feb. 17,to repair a tear. He was able to walk out of the hospital and really did good. This was the first day at home, remote in hand, sitting in the recliner, what more could you ask for. Notice the "yes" on the knee.

After being gone for a week for Spring Break, when we got back all the Azaleas were in bloom. So we went to Vargos for lunch and to see their garden walkways full of Azaleas. It was so beautiful. They also have many peacocks roaming the gardens.

Branson

We drove to Branson. We enjoyed all the family friendly shows, they were great. We saw five while we were there. Baldknobbers Jamboree, Tribute to John Denver, Group called "SIX, 12 Irish tenors, and a Magic show. We visited little shops and had lunch at diner where the waiters and waitresses would sing. Fun trip.

Carthage and Nauvoo

From Branson we drove to Nauvoo and spent two days there. The Nauvoo temple was beautiful and we went inside to do some temple work. Also visited the Carthage jail where Joseph and Hyrum were shot. Loved seeing all the places in Nauvoo.

We had a lot of fun when Jamie's whole family came for a visit. We went to the Zoo and the kids loved swimming in the Pool in February. We did heat the pool for a day but they swam in the cold water the other days. We had dinner at Amber's one day and at Shad's another day. Lots of fun family time, and then Baba came a few days before Jamie had to leave.

Rodeo Houston 2011

Baba came to stay with us on Feb. 25. We knew she would be here for the Rodeo, Jamie's family, little Mollie's birth, trip to Branson and Nauvoo. We had a lot of fun sharing all these family events with her,lus we needed another Pinochle player.

Last Chemo Treatment-Feb. 1st, 2011

It's hard to believe that I have finished the 6th and Last Chemo treatment.
Next week will be the CT Scan and if all looks good will then see Dr. Fromm every 3 months after that.
Bobbie was my nurse and she has been so great. She would do my blood draws every week and administer the Chemo treatment.
Sara is the Physician's Assistant and she is also great and very knowlegable to answer all my questions.
Dr. Fromm was my surgeon and I don't have a picture of her yet to post. But feel like she saved my life with her expert surgical skills.
For the Chemo treatments I would get all situated with my pillows, blankets, and warm socks. I had a movie, ready to watch and books to read and brought my lunch.
A nice relaxing 4-5 hours.

Zone Swim Meet-Feb 8, 2011

Tyler came away with 4 medals at the Zone Swim Meet last night. He was seeded 3rd in 8th grade boys breastroke, but they were all within 1 second of each other and he brought in a First place time. He was one excited boy! He also swam in Medley Relay, Freestyle Relay and backstroke.

We decided to take advantage of a sunny nice day and go ride our bikes at Brazos Bend State Park. Shad, Hailey, Zach and Chloe came also. Craig, Candy and Tyler all rode bikes. Hailey was a little timid riding her bike without training wheels on the rocky path, but she did great. Once she got home to a paved road she was a pro. We packed a picnic lunch and enjoyed the day. Shad got the best workout pulling the trailer with Zach and Chloe behind him.

Dec. 28- Celebrated 36 years of Marriage

It's hard to believe we have been together for 36 years. They have been wonderful. We have the best kids and grandkids. Life is wonderful. Shad and Amy took us out to Perry's steak house and it was so good especially because I could eat and it was delicious, filet mignon, shrimp and lobster.

Christmas Vacation

Tyler and Craig spent 4 days at Disney World the week before Christmas. They just had a blast.
We had Christmas surrounded by all our kids and grandkids except Jamie's family.
We got in the hot tub one day and Dan and Tyler made a quick jump to the big pool, FREEZING! The kids came over and helped us decorate our tree. We had a nice dinner Christmas Eve at Shad and Amy's home. We attended a live Nativity at our Friend's church and took picture with the camel. It was a great time.

Christmas Letter 2010
Dear Family and Friends,
As most of you know after our vacation to Seattle in August of this year, I came home to go to the doctor because I hadn’t been feeling the greatest only to find out that I had Ovarian Cancer. I had extensive surgery on Sept. 1. I have had 3 of the 6 Chemo treatments so far. They are given every 3 weeks. I will finish the treatments in February.
I just can’t begin to describe the love and prayers and support we have felt from all our friends and family. I have 5 sisters and they have all come to help me at different times during the last 4 months. We are doing good. Craig amazingly has been able to keep up with work, being our Bishop, being there for Tyler’s programs, games and activities and has been there for me.
Tyler is in the 8th grade and has been busy with football, swimming, Scouts, playing percussion in the school band. He has grown a few inches this year, finally taller than his Mom. He seems to be recruited for lots of service projects and is a great worker. He loves to play games whenever any company or family comes over. He is now an Uncle to 10 nieces and nephews.
Jamie, Trent, and family – Julianne, Catherine, Madelyn, Adam and Owen are in Connecticut. Trent works for the Financial Accounting Standards Board for the next two years.
Carrie – working as a Physical Therapist here in Houston at Quentin Mease County Hospital.
Shad, Amy and Family- Hailey, Zach, Chloe and new little girl coming in March, just started his first job as an Orthodontist in August.
Amber, Dan and Family-Megan and Brooke live 30 minutes away and enjoy their home and Dan’s job with Exxon.
We are so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ, his life, example and atonement in our behalf. We know that our Heavenly Father is aware of each of us and our struggles and we feel so blessed to have this knowledge and know that all things are truly in his hands.

My sister Terri has been here for the last nine days. Since I have been feeling pretty good she has helped with many projects. We have wrapped presents, organized the garage and game closet. We have walked around our block most days. She has even massaged my feet when they start aching. I have loved having her here and will miss her.

We love to go to the Seattle waterfront and then to the Pikes Street Market. A big highlight for me especially is to go to Craig's brother Mark' home. He is a big fisherman and once again had dungeness crab to eat and sent us home with Salmon.

Ski Trip With Hintons

We spent from Friday to Monday with my sister Vicki and her family. We played games, watched a movie on the big screen in the garage and they took us out on their boat. It was a little chilly but we had our wet suits and had a lot of fun. I think maybe I skiied for 5 minutes and knee boarded for a little longer. Tyler was so excited to try everything. We even stayed over for Monday so we could go out on the boat again in the morning and Tyler stayed out in the water for 2 hours. He tried it all, surfing, wakeboarding, double and single skiing, kneeboarding and tubing. We stayed all bundled up in the boat with our blankets watching him.

Seattle Vacation 2010

We headed to Seattle in August. We had such a good time being with Baba and the rest of the family. We went camping at Kalaloch for a week. Underwater fun

What do you do in Houston in the 90+ very humid days. SWIM. Tyler is on the swim team and practices and hour a day for that. He is also on the waterpolo team and practices and hour and half most days. If you miss regular practice you can swim from 9 pm - 10 pm. And then come home and swim again!!!
I have invited lots of friends to come the last two weeks so I could help their kids with swimming and just swim and have fun. So the pool has been busy.

TEENAGER in the House

Tyler's birthday was May 9. We now have a teenager in the house.
We have been so blessed these past 13 years to have Tyler with us.
He is such a delight and we love to watch him grow and learn.

Kitchen Pictures

I have moved back in to the kitchen. I really love it. Some of the things that we changed I really like. Most cabinets were changed to drawers. We moved the refrigerator to the other wall. There is a roll out pantry for spices and such.
I like the two trash can pull-out, one for trash, one for recycling. We also put in an induction cook-top and I really like it. I have already had a few boil overs and clean-up was a snap. I love the lazy susan in the corner. I now have a double oven and one is convection. We cooked three cookie pans all at once and they came out great, no more rotating. We put in one big sink, it has been great. The cabinets now go to the ceiling. Even though I can't reach the top 2 shelves , I can put things up there that aren't used on a regular basis. I spent lots of time configuring the back splash and really happy how it turned out. Love the lights, undercounter, can lights and ceiling fan with light.

Sports award Night

Tyler was on the 7th grade Basketball team. He also swam for the swim team. They had a Sports Award night. He got some trophys and also recognized for Honor Roll while playing sports.

Fiesta Texas Band Competition

Tyler's band went to San Antonio to Fiesta Texas and played in a Band competition. After they played then they got to spend the rest of the day in the park and go on all the rides. I chaperoned. We met at the school at 6 am and got back about midnight. We did ride on the nice air conditioned buses so it was nice.

Kitchen Remodel Early Stages

Thought I would post a few of the first pictures of our remodel.
We have been in the process now for 3 weeks. The Kitchen was gutted to the studs. The Family Room was gutted except for the floor. The Laudry Room and Back bathroom also being redone. We have cabinets in place, granite order taken today, Family room mostly painted. Door and Crown moldings mostly in place. Alot done but alot to be done. What a mess! But so excited for outcome!

Last Friday we went to Vargos, a really nice restaurant to have lunch and walk through their gardens. The Azaleas were all in bloom and it was really beautiful. They also had peacocks, ducks, geese and turtles in the ponds.

Disney World 2010

We decided to drive to Disney World for our Spring Break this year.
We left about 4 pm on Sunday after Church and other meetings. We drove about 6 hours then got a hotel. We drove the rest of the way Monday and were at Epcot about 4:30 pm and stayed until closing and then went to the Magic Kingdom and stayed until Midnight. This was our week open the parks early and then stay until closing. I even lasted all days except the last. I had Tyler and Craig drop me off about 9:30 pm and then they went and closed out the Magic Kingdom.
We went to Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. We have had Tyler in training for many years and this year it payed off. He was the runner for the fast passes. When you learn how to do this you rarely have to wait in long lines. He was able to manuveur through the parks and meet back up with us.
We just really had fun. The weather was perfect. We kept a jacket on in the mornings and evenings and the sun shone most afternoons.

Jamie & Baba's Visit

Craig's Mom came for a visit on Jan. 23 and was able to stay for 10 days. Jamie came on Jan. 29 and stayed from Friday to Monday.
We had such a nice time having Mom here. Amber and kids came most days to visit. We went to her home for lunch one day and took a visit to the Mercer Arboretum.
Mom and I went to see Blindside, a great movie one day.
Amy and Shad had dinner for us all one night. Carrie made brunch one morning for all of us. When Jamie came on Friday night we had a big dinner planned. Her flight was delayed so we ate without her. But she came about 2 hours later and had dinner and bluebell icecream and cake with all of us. I wanted to add some pictures we took. We had all our children together.

Catherine Handy's Baptism

On Friday we flew to New York. We caught a cab to take us to Grand Central then took a train to New Canaan to spend a few days with Jamie's family.
On Saturday, Catherine was baptized. Both sets of Grandparents were there and that was fun. We sure did enjoy being with all the children and playing with them.
They still had snow on the ground so Tyler got to sled down their backyard slope. The day was beautiful and sunny and also jumped on the Trampoline. After the baptism we went to an aquarium and enjoyed that alot. Then to California Pizza for dinner. Sunday was a nice relaxing day, a wonderful day at church together, a wonderful dinner then games and such for evening. Monday we went with some of Jamie's friends to Jump it Up place and had lots of fun watching the kids and of course we also had to take our turns doing all the fun things.

Freezing Campout

Tyler and his friend Michael camped out about a week or so ago. Tyler wanted to campout when it was below freezing. That does not happen very often. They set up the tent in the backyard and had a great cool night but stayed warm. Tyler even slept out in the tent by himself the next night.

My Sister Tobi and husband Scott have been in Malaysia for 6 months and came back for a visit. A great excuse to get together with all the siblings. We had such a nice time.
Vicki, Tami and I stayed with Dad and Mama Lanie. Penny stayed with Tab and Pam. We got to be with Terri and John also. Helmut and Lark also came to the family gathering on Friday night along with Tobi's children and grandchildren. Lots of fun. I missed getting a picture of Tab and Pam but we sure did have fun being with them also.

Most Wednesday nights, the ladies gather at the church at 9 pm to play volleyball for an hour and half. It is really fun especially when we get enough to really play. It's fun to have Carrie here so we can play together or against each other, Ha!
We had our stake volleyball tournament a couple weeks ago and our ward had 3 teams.
I played on the championship team !

Closet Redo

For years I had a desk in our bedroom that I kept my sewing machine on. A few years ago we finally bought new bedroom furniture and got rid of the desk. I took one of the bedrooms and made it my sewing room. I still had half my closet that I kept my craft and other things in. But I decided I really wanted to redo my closet and spread out my hanging clothes but still have room for other things. So I started going through all the stuff I had tucked into every available space. It's amazing what you can fit into a small closet. But the redo is complete, except I will still add a few pull out baskets when they go on sale in Dec.

Youth Temple Trip

Tyler went to the temple for the first time this past Saturday. He got to do baptisms for those that have passed on and couldn't do for themselves. He was able to do the work for Uncle Robbie. That was a special moment.

It has been fun to have Carrie back in Houston. She moved into her own apartment this past week and it has been fun helping her set it up. After my vegetable garden was done I decided to grow the giant Sunflowers, they are fun to watch grow as they get so big. Amber, Dan, Megan and Brooke come and visit often. Little Brooke changes everytime I see her.

Disneyland 2009

We spent a week in California. Craig had a meeting in LA on Friday. Tyler and I went along.
We arrived on Monday. Tuesday we went to Univeral Studios. Wednesday we went to Disneyland. Thursday we went to California adventure. Friday Craig had meetings so Tyler and I went to both Disneyland and California adventure and did our favorites again.
We stayed just across the street so we had an easy walk to the front gates of Disneyland.
I think we have mastered the fast pass so we didn't wait in any long lines.
Tyler loved the roller coasters. He went so many times he knew right when the camera would take his picture and did some pretty funny poses. The weather was perfect and we just had a great time.

Kalaloch 2009

We spent a week camping at Kalaloch with Craig's brother Kevin and his family.
Kelli, Kyler, Bridger and Kimber.
It was a little cloudy thru the week, but not too cold. We made fires at camp and on the beach everyday. We saw a bald eagle at his nest, seals, a whale, pelicans, seagulls, smelt, and several other animals. We relaxed on the beach , took walks and enjoyed the sounds of the ocean. We had a stunt kite and it really took off with the strong winds and was fun to fly. The 2nd day there we caught smelt in the waves. One day right in front of us where the seals are usually feeding , up came a big whale. Maybe he was feeding on the seals. Quite the sight.

We have had a very hot June. Today when I woke up at 6:30 am to go for my walk it was 77 degrees outside. Now at 3 pm it is 101 degrees on our back porch.
So swimming is the only fun thing to do outside right now and even the water is warm. I am sharing some pictures from Father's Day, the children's Museum with the kids and I did spend yesterday making Salsa and my Spicey Sweet tomato sauce.
After a delicious Father's day meal of shrimp and brisket we showed home movies of when our big kids were little. It was fun remembering them at this stage of life.
Craig had meetings in Washington DC earlier this month and then flew for an overnight stay with Jamie and Trent and kids. He sure enjoyed his quick visit.

I have been babysitting Jamie's plumeria trees since she left. She said they take 3-4 years to flower and she had them for 5 years before leaving with me when they moved. The first tree flowered a few days ago and it is not a Plumeria. What can I say but it is beautiful.

Tyler Turns Twelve

Tyler had a fun busy birthday. Friday night he had his first Scout Campout, then Saturday was a double header baseball game. Next he had 5 friends over along with family for a swimming barbecue party.

This has been such a nice Day. Dan, Amber and Megan, Shad, Amy, Hailey, Zach and Chloe have been here for dinner and playing games and visiting.

Fresh Lemon Sorbet

For Christmas I got an electric icecream maker. I have loved using it. You keep the bowl part in the freezer and then when you are ready to make it , take it out and just add your icecream or sorbet mix, turn it on and it is ready in 25 minutes. No ice and salt mess, clean-up is easy and bowl goes right back to the freezer.

I had a baby shower luncheon a few weeks ago and tried this recipe.
It was so refreshing and delicious. I scooped it out using an icecream scoop and topped it with fresh berries. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
We have made it several times since. I just put it in the freezer and take a scoop out and add some water and have an instant frozen lemonade drink.
Fresh Lemon Sorbet

Makes 14 1/2 cup servings

3 cups sugar
3 cups water
2 1/4 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (9 - 10 large lemons)
1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped lemon zest

Instructions
Combine the sugar and water in a large saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer without stirring until the sugar dissolves, about 3 to 5 minutes. Cool completely. This is called a simple syrup, and may be made ahead in larger quantities to have on hand for making Fresh Lemon Sorbet. Keep refrigerated until ready to use.

When cool, add the lemon juice and zest; stir to combine. Turn the machine on. Pour the lemon mixture into the freezer bowl, and mix until the mixture thickens, about 25 to 30 minutes. The sorbet will have a soft texture similar to a freshly scooped Italian ice. If a firmer consistency is desired, transfer the sorbet to an airtight container and place in freezer for about 2 hours.

Remove from freezer about 15 minutes before serving.

Tyler's Spring Band Concert

Tyler has been playing percussion in the Band this year at Pin Oak Middle School, in the advanced band. They had their Spring Concert and did a couple of really nice pieces. This Saturday the Advanced and Intermediate Band perform at Music Across Texas at Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Galveston. After their performance they get to stay the rest of the day and play at the waterpark.

Happy 88th birthday to my Dad. He was born on April 23, 1921 in Vernal, Utah. He has lead an amazing life and seen so many remarkable things in his lifetime. He met my mother in Germany while serving in the army. He was trained in Oral Surgery while in the army and then settled in Fresno, California where they raised 7 children. He had a great career as an Oral Surgeon. He flys airplanes, waterskis, snow skies, likes to deer hunt. He has done so many different things in his life but most important has been his love of the gospel and our Savior Jesus Christ. He has lived in Saudi Arabia for over 5 years, served a mission to Vietnam and now settled in Salt Lake. My mother died in 2001 and a few years later Dad and Elaine got together and married. We love her and she and Dad have been great companions for the last few years.
Dad as I started to write this post I didn’t know if I would be able to come up with 88 reasons I love you, but then when I got to the end I had so many more that I could of written. You have been a wonderful father and example always to me in my life.

Connecticut Here We Come- Spring Break 2009

Why stay in warm, Sunny Houston when you can go to cold New York????
But the warmth of being with all the family was so much fun.
We arrived in New York last Saturday, March 14th. Trent picked up half the bunch and we rented a mini van and drove to Jamie and Trent's home. We had such a fun Sunday reuniting with all the cousins and families. Church was a real treat as Trent taught Sunday School and Jamie taught Relief Society that day.
Monday we drove to Palmyra, all but Jamie's family as they had school.
Highlights: Sacred Grove, Hill Cumorah, Grandin Press, Joseph Smith's home, Whitmire farm, Palmyra Temple
Tuesday We drove to Niagra Falls and then back to Palmyra, Shad's family went to Amy's sisters home for the night.
Wednesday we all ended up back at Jamie's.
Thursday- first big day in the City, Jamie kept the babies, Megan, Chloe and Adam.
We took Madelyn with us. Highlights: The Museum of Natural History, Times Square, Stanton Island Ferry and the Statue of Liberty.
Friday, Amber and Amy stayed at Jamie's for cousins to play. Craig, Shad, Dan, Tyler, Carrie and I ventured into the City again for another fun day of walking, shopping and seeing the sights.
Saturday: The whole gang went to the city, Highlights: Broadway Play, SHREK, it was great, Going up to Trent's floor at Ernst and Young and looking over the City , It is right there at Times Square. Seeing the Manhatten Temple,Central Park and Rockefellar Center.
My how times have changed, coordinating with 5 families was so much easier with a GPS in each car and every Adult had a cell phone. We could seperate and then call and connect again.

Sanders Farewell Fun

We got together for a farewell party for Tobi and Scott before they leave on March 24for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
All my siblings were able to come and also some nieces and nephews and grandchildren. It was so great to see my Dad and Elaine and visit with them. Most of Tobi's grandchildren came, they are growing so fast. Helmut and Lark Bambl came also.
Pamela served quite a spread, shredded pork and chicken, beans, rice, all the toppings. Lots of good desserts, needless to say we didn't go away hungry.
We had such a great time talking and just being together.

Rodeo Time

Craig saw the trail riders going up our street so I grabbed Zach and we drove over to where they were resting for a few minutes. My neighbor Chiffon was just getting home and I told her and she got her little boy Jason and did the same.
There are several trail rides that converge from all directions coming into Houston at the start of the Rodeo. I talked to some of the cowboys and they had been on the trail for over 200 miles. They lucked out with beautiful weather this year.
Besides seeing the trail rides going along the feeder roads of the freeway, another site that doesn't seem to fit the image is cowboys on their horse with a cell phone to their ear.

Garden planting 2/26/09

Yesterday Craig tilled my garden boxes so I was ready to plant today.
I had already bought my tomato starter plants and my packet of Sugar snap peas.
That is all I am going to do this year. I have dill and Cilantro already growing and about to go to seed. I need to figure out what to do with them at this point.
I had him till in 1 bag of sheep compost for each box.
Zach came over to help me plant. I put in 6 tomato plants and 3 rows of peas. I thought I would take pictures of what I planted so I can remember from year to year.
I planted Large Red cherry, Celebrity, Quick Pick V,F, N, TMV, and Early girl.

Trampoline fun

Most everyday after school Tyler goes over to Shad's house to jump on the trampoline. Zach can't wait for him to come and rarely will get off the tramp to let Tyler jump alone. They have a lot of fun together. This is Jithin his friend from last year and Zach having a seat war.

Houston Winter Fun

We had a fun Valentines Day. We went to Brazos Bend and rode our bikes. We saw a few alligators. It was a perfect temperature day, just a little cool to enjoy riding but then it started to drizzle so we biked around the lake and came back to the Van.
Shad pulled a bike trailer with one of the kids and Chloe. Zach and Hailey took turns riding a bike. Amy,Craig, Tyler and I rode our bikes. For Valentines, Craig got some lobster and steak and we had a very yummy meal.

School's Out - the fun starts

Today was our first day of our Holiday break. We had several families over to make Candy Houses. It was lots of fun. We have also decorated cookies with Hailey and Zach and had our Christmas with Amber, Dan and Megan before they left for Utah. Hailey and Zach all tuckered out after a fun day. I'll include some other pictures also.

Fun with Baba

We went to the Zoo last week. Today we walked around the Galleria Mall and then decorated the tree for family night and played "hot potato" with Shad's family.

Thanksgiving 2008

The Parade is first event of the morning. All the family went except me. I like to finish getting everything ready and setting the table and such with no helpers. This year I had the New York parade on one TV and the Houston parade on the other TV, while I hooked up my handsfree headset to the phone and called all my siblings while getting everything ready.

After the parade it is back to the house for everyone and final preparations for the meal. This year we had Amber, Dan and Megan, Baba,(Craig's Mom), Blake family, Dodie, Natalie, Katie and Steven, Lisa Hobleman and the Pace family, Hoyt, Mikala and Oscar.
This year our menu was Turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, fruit bowl, veggie trays, rolls, and cranberry bread. Dessert was an assortment of pies and icecream. It was all so yummy.
After eating we played games, croquet, bocce ball, and wits and wagers. Then about 6:30 pm we were off to see the fireworks and the Christmas lighting of Galleria area. A busy fun day and it was warm we didn't even need sweaters for the fireworks.
